Your Markdown files are read in your browser. dotMD Champ does not upload their contents to its server to display, edit, export, or share them.

What the reader handles

When you open a file, the browser reads it locally and renders it on your screen. Edits remain in the open browser session until you export a copy. We do not provide cloud file storage or automatic backup. Closing or refreshing the page can erase unsaved edits.

Markdown can contain links and images hosted elsewhere. If a document displays a remote image or you follow a link, your browser may contact that other site under its own privacy practices.

Purchases and access

Stripe handles Champ Mode checkout and payment details. We do not receive or store your card number. Stripe sends payment status and a Checkout session identifier to this Site so we can verify that your purchase is eligible for Champ Mode. We keep a purchase code in your browser’s local storage so your access can be checked when you return. You can remove it by clearing this Site’s browser data, then restore access with your purchase code.

To verify a code, our server sends it to Stripe. Stripe may collect your email and payment information during checkout under Stripe’s privacy policy.

If you request purchase recovery, we use the email you enter to look up an eligible Stripe purchase and send a single-use link through Resend. We keep a temporary link record and limited request data to prevent misuse. The link expires in 15 minutes. Resend processes the email for delivery; no Markdown file content is sent.

Site operations

ChatGPT Sites hosts this website. Hosting and security systems may process technical information such as IP address, browser details, requests, and operational logs. We use that information to deliver and protect the Site. The hosting provider may use essential cookies or similar technologies for access and security. We use Google Analytics to measure page views and broad actions such as opening a file, selecting a tool, or submitting the contact form. We do not send document text, filenames, contact-form contents, or purchase codes to Analytics. Google may use cookies or similar technology for this measurement; see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Contact messages

When you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email, optional phone number, subject, message, consent, and basic submission details you provide. We send these to the shared A-Town JAM communications gateway to route your message to the dotMD Champ business inbox and respond to you. The gateway may forward a notification to A-Town JAM’s email provider. We keep contact messages as needed to respond, provide support, and meet legal obligations.

Sharing and retention

We share payment and access information with Stripe and technical information with our hosting provider as needed to run the Site. We may also disclose information when legally required. We do not sell your Markdown content. Local files and unsaved edits are not retained on our server. Payment records are retained by Stripe under its policies; operational records are kept as needed for service, security, and legal obligations.

Your choices and contact

You can avoid opening sensitive files, remove the local purchase code through browser settings, and request information about any personal data we control. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete that data. Email support@dotmdchamp.com with privacy questions.
